Enrollment Roadmap
To ensure your child is ready for their first day at the WVU Early Learning Institute, please use the following checklist to track required documentation and fees.
Application & Acceptance
- Online Application: Complete the online form to be placed on the chronological waitlist.
- Confirmation: Respond to the Director’s enrollment offer within five workdays.
- Enrollment Fee: Pay the non-refundable $350 deposit fee within 10 days of acceptance to secure your spot.
Required Paperwork
All forms must be submitted by the child’s first day of attendance.
- Physician’s Report: Documentation of a physical examination completed by a licensed healthcare provider.
- Immunization Records: An up-to-date record of all required vaccinations.
- Emergency Care Form: Current contact information for parents and designated emergency contacts.
- WVU Photography Consent: Signed form regarding the use of photos for classroom projects or publicity.
- Policy Acknowledgement: A signed statement confirming you have read and discussed the Family Handbook with the Director.
- Custody Agreements (if applicable): A copy of the court-ordered custody or visitation agreement must be kept on file.
Preparation for Daily Life
- Labeled Clothing: Provide a seasonal change of clothing (including socks and underwear) to be kept in your child’s cubby.
- Closed-Toe Shoes: Ensure your child wears appropriate footwear for daily indoor and outdoor play.
- Water Bottle: A labeled, personal water bottle for daily hydration.
- Seesaw App: Download and register for the Seesaw App to receive urgent updates and weather alerts.
Orientation & Visits
- Initial Observation: Visit the school before committing to meet the teachers and see the program in action.
- Personalized Orientation: Attend your scheduled visit in August to explore the classroom with your child.
