3-Year-Old Preschool Program

Our 3-year-old program offers a nurturing and engaging learning environment designed specifically for the developmental needs of three-year-olds and young fours.

Program details

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m..
  • Calendar: We follow the WVU semester calendar, including all university holidays and breaks.
  • Staffing: Classes are led by certified teachers, supported by WVU student interns and work-study assistants.

Philosophy and Focus

Our curriculum is enriched with elements of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which embraces the “environment as teacher”. We focus on fostering curiosity and wonder through:

  • STEAM Challenges: Integrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math into daily exploration.
  • Environmental Discovery: Using indoor and outdoor spaces to promote discovery and problem-solving.
  • Dramatic Play: Encouraging creative expression and social-emotional relationship building.
  • Gentle Structure: Balancing explorative play with tailored, age-appropriate learning experiences.
